Camping

Camping by the lake surrounded by trees on a nice clear day

I love camping and I’m excited that you are thinking about the adventure or you have already booked a trip. The essence of a wooden fire is very comforting and rich for me and being outdoors is calming and, with the company of others, it’s so much fun. Plus, the price suits me really well.

Some people consider camping as being ‘off-the-grid’, walking to a site with a backpack or driving to a booked campsite. Some people like glamping, which involves a type of luxury camping with some items already established; a real mattress or running water.

A camping checklist may look different for you based on several factors;

  • Where you’re camping? ‘off-the-grid’ or within a park.
  • The season may result in different clothing.
  • The activities available may change what you bring.
  • If the park or site has certain rules; no music, no trailers etc.
  • Some parks and sites have electricity, Wi-Fi, and water etc.
  • Duration of your stay; weekend, week or longer.

I created the checklist based on me camping at a park during late spring, summer and early autumn with electricity; however, it can apply to campsites without electricity.

There are 3 versions; the camping checklist detailed consists of 1 page and 2 pages with a larger format. It may be too extensive as I have added more over the years, so I created a camping checklist essentials version. Some items may or may not be applicable based on your own preference and resources.

Recently we purchased a used tent trailer at a really good price and a new checklist will be developed. We’ve already booked some trips and I’m so looking forward to it!

I truly hope the camping checklist helps and that you experience a great time while you’re there!
